Five minute twitter soapbox of the day:

1) Republicans are trying to discredit the US Postal Service, remove funding from it, and shut it down.

2) The reason is because with COVID-19, expansion to mail-in ballots for the upcoming election is VERY likely. Weakening the postal
service or outsourcing to the private sector makes it much easier to avoid doing this. It’s a form of voter suppression—expanding access to voting by mail and the ability to vote from home causes elections to swing Democratic.

3) Cool that sucks. How can I help in 5 min or less?
4) BUY STAMPS!! https://store.usps.com/store/m/category.jsp?id=mobile-stamp A sheet of stamps, with shipping, will cost you $12.50 or less. You can do it on your phone with guest checkout AND they take PayPal. The #1 way the USPS gets funded is through stamp purchases.
5) Text “USPS” to 50409. This is a super handy computer program that will take your name and zip code, generate a full, professional letter, and send it to your appropriate congressional representatives with about 3 one-word inputs on your part. It took me 30 seconds.
