Neal also cites Steven Rattner, who the SEC barred from the investment banking industry for malfeasance, as another adviser on the rescue.
And Hank Paulson, the Bush Treasury Secretary and ex-Goldman CEO who designed the 2008 bailouts.
Democrats want this to be a story about the Trump administration’s incompetence and the Democratic Party’s patriotism. But the fact is it’s a bipartisan corruption project, with a 96-0 Senate vote.
What Washington understands as “expertise” looks like corruption to the rest of the world. They don’t think they’re doing ideologically toxic things, they think they’re getting the best, smartest people involved.
