Q: how do I stretch? Before or after? A: seems to be some consensus that stretching before should be dynamic, not static. https://www.runnersworld.com/beginner/a20808113/should-i-stretch-before-or-after-my-runs/

(I">https://www.runnersworld.com/beginner/... confess that I almost never stretch before and only sometimes after. Don’t be like me.)
Q: What should I wear? A: if you’re somewhere you’d normally wear a jacket, probably less than you think. If you’re not a bit cold at the beginning, you’ll be too hot at the end. Handy calculator here: https://www.runnersworld.com/training/a20803133/what-to-wear/">https://www.runnersworld.com/training/...
Q: when should I run? A: whenever you think you’re most likely to actually get out the door. Although depending on your route, distancing might be easier if you avoid midday and early evening.
Also on “when to run”; I usually try to avoid running on a full stomach or a full bladder. See what works for you. Just remember that open public washrooms may be hard to find these days..
Q: what should I eat/drink? A: unless you’re racing, probably doesn’t matter that much. I don’t usually carry snacks (Gummi bears are good, also maple syrup) unless the run is >90min; water for >60min (maybe less if it’s really hot). Also consider previous tweet re:restrooms..
Q: how far should I go? A: pick a plan and follow it. Takes the decisions out of it and might help to ensure that you don’t build up too fast, which is a good way to get injured.
Q: how do I overcome the boredom especially when running alone? A: some people swear by podcasts. I like music myself. Sometimes it’s nice to just let your mind wander. If you let your body wander then you can keep busy trying not to get lost!
Ok, that’s enough. I claim no particular expertise in this topic: I am just someone who runs more than most people would consider normal. I find running to be super helpful for my emotional well-being and I hope you do too. See you out there!
