ah yes lizzo discourse again….
yes the way u all talk about lizzo is anti-Black and anti-fat misogyny. there is no skirting around it. she is hated on bc she is fat and Black and a woman and she embraced all those things for the world to see. her mere existence generates such a vitriol response and when those
ppl are confronted, they hide under the guise of “health” or “preference”. what does it mean to not prefer fat bodies? WHAT DOES IT MEAN? what is a preference for thinness mean? not only in others but in urself?
what makes u think thinness is admirable, beautiful?
weight is political. thinness is exported as signifying humanity (or even godliness) where fatness is its opposite (ie. calling fat ppl whales, monsters, etc.)as a result there are polar opposite expectations for for each whether its wealth/poverty, intelligence/ignorance,
capable/incapable, beauty/ugliness, happy/unhappy, healthy/unhealthy. the unabashing hate for lizzo and other fat women make all these things show themselves in so many of u and there is no self reflection at all, just hiding. so yes fatphobia does exist and most of u are
fatphobic in ur interactions with other ppl and urself….it makes me think of the proliferation of thinspo on social media (before/after pics) n how they are many times self-serving thinness propaganda, not inspirational. fitspo feeds into the same thing. no matter what these
ppl say, feeling anxiety around ur diet/the gym is NOT NORMAL??? if u like the gym, sure have fun!! but for so many ppl it is literally a chore and as soon as they miss a day they are overrun with guilt/disgust/anxiety. that’s the fatphobia speaking
in conclusion abolish conceptions of thinness, embrace fatness as a mere fat of existing in a fat body, not a determiniation of anything else. also sk*nny ppl do not deserve rights
