Okay so boom , I was 18 I had got my FIRST big girl job working as a receptionist , I did that for 2 weeks . Reason being the girl who teched ended up going in preterm labor , so I’m a fast learner especially hands on so the office in panic & im like I can do it
Just show me ... so I learn I start doing it . I’m making 10.50. 3 months pass the doctor is like you’re really good you should get certified , I pass my certification first time . So now I can refract , do a full work up etc , I get a raise . Boom I’m at 14.00
Now I’m 18 making this living at home at the time ... I run my money up , me & Julian move ... SOOOON as we move I find out I’m pregnant & I didn’t tell my job until I was like 5 months . But as time goes on my body starts giving out on me while working so I couldn’t
Tech anymore . It was super hard for me . I got fired & put on bed rest

Not only am I pregnant but now we both have no job & we got this stupid ass apartment , I got my last check we split rent for 2 months , my momma helped us on rent going further up until I think a month before I had jacelyn & I was like that’s not fair to her
To be paying our bills NO PLANTS was hiring so Julian went to work at Walmart but we still was fumbling . So we move in to my mom house , I go in labor early . I get a new job as a CUSTODIAN working making 7.57 & I’m like something better than nothing I have a kid to care for
So my first check was like 686 , i immediately started saving ..... anything I could save I SAVED . I started jacelyn A account & I put that whole 686 in there . I remember being so frustrated man , I felt so low and just like a failure . Julian was still trying
To survive , at the time I didn’t have a car so I’d help him on his car note , his insurance , phone even if he needed shoes a haircut whatever . I’d help and it was all off 7.57 , my mom kept jacelyn until she was 1 so I didn’t have to send her to daycare & use
More money , so 6 months past I was praying to get back in my field .. the next morning a job in Zachary called me & that was my stepping stone ! I started immediately & at 15.75 , I was sooooo happy , the following week Julian was Back in a plant so now we up again

But I didn’t handle my money how I did at 18 , 20 year old me was a beast now . I’m seeing our money flow I’m like I need more stability

I’m very humble ! I don’t look down on
Anyone & ion go around acting like o I got it . I mean I do but I’m very much “ broke “ once my account don’t look how it needs to be . Now I’m at a bomb ass doctors office making good money , getting raises & bonuses , Julian got a nice job too ! Jacelyn goes to

Now how I live is if I made 12 a hour on a 40 hour work week which keeps my finances in line . I pay everything on time to avoid late fees or if I do extend
I pay to the extension . I don’t over buy or shop compulsively . Really only on house things or jacelyn . I constantly add money to all 3 savings accounts . I said all this to say that it dont matter what you make , you can save something ! That meal you just brought
