Every academic who studies race, gender, and class, disasters, and social welfare should be spending more time supporting communities right now than focusing on how they can publish off of the tragedy of this moment.
It disgusts me that there are scholars who benefit from the trauma facing marginalized communities. Then, when a crisis arises, they do literally nothing to serve those same communities.
I mean this in the shadiest way possible: if all you've done is work on publications, tenure files, and research proposals while the world has faced perpetual imminent devastation, I want nothing to do with you.
