I’m really looking forward to the Dune movie and I read the book but I’m low key worried about all the fan shaming that will go around for people that haven’t read the book so let me be honest. It is not a smooth read. It requires a lot of glossary checking etc... #dune

I have this fear that people will use the fact that people get frustrated or quit reading it to say something like “Well this book is for intellectuals” when really the main problem readers have is just the style the author chose.

Some people absolutely love all the world building and new terms and definitions you have to keep up with to understand the story, while others find that overwhelming. For those that find the book overwhelming the film will probably be easier to digest.

So I just want to be that friendly face that respects the source material that is also not going to make you feel stupid if you didn’t read it. The end
