/ We should stop using the phrase “re-open the Country.” That phrase is not accurate. We will aren’t going to “re-open the Country.” In the best case, we will slowly open certain areas of the country, with testing and tracing.
/ Then hopefully, we slowly open some businesses. We will see what works, and what doesn’t. We will do this slowly, deliberately. We will track the evidence carefully and use science and facts to drive our next decisions.
/ There’s not going to be some moment when the country “re-opens.” That creates a false narrative in people’s minds. Words matters. We should strive to use words and phrases with as much precision as we can.
/ The best result I think we can hope for right now is the gradual re-opening of some of our more important, core businesses. “Essential services.” See how that goes. Keep careful track of all infections, ramp up testing and tracing.
/ We lost entire month of February because the administration and its progaganda arm at @FoxNews downplayed the issue for the most of the month. We could have ramped up supplies and tests, enabling us to open much faster. Instead, the “experts” like Hannity drove our response.
/ End.
