I tried to have a clear out of domain names, ended up selling one & using some of profits to buy http://HandmadeFurniture.co.uk"> http://HandmadeFurniture.co.uk

I thought it could be interesting to share how I found it, how much I paid, why I see value in it, development opps, and just my general way of thinking.
How I found the domain

For .co.uk domains, I will check auction website https://domainlore.uk"> https://domainlore.uk , and domain forum https://www.acorndomains.co.uk/

Often">https://www.acorndomains.co.uk/">... you can find reasonable prices here cos it& #39;s often domainers selling to other domainers (think of it like buying from a wholesaler)
I happened to see http://HandmadeFurniture.co.uk"> http://HandmadeFurniture.co.uk  after someone post a thread on the acorndomains forum, initially they invited offers for it, then later on posted a buy it now price of £150.
I do due diligence, making sure domain has sound history, & hasn& #39;t been spammed or anything like that in the past.

Using https://web.archive.org/ ,">https://web.archive.org/">... I can see it has a history dating back to the year 2000.

This looks ok, happy it was used for a relevant purpose in a previous life
I then use http://ahrefs.com"> http://ahrefs.com  to check links pointing to domain from other websites.

This is important from an SEO point of view. What I am looking out for is a mass amount of low quality or spammy links.

But all I find are links from 3 other sites, so looks ok to me
I search http://Google.co.uk"> http://Google.co.uk  for intitle:handmade furniture, which will bring up websites which use handmade furniture in their title.

I see lots of results, which satisfies me, that IF I wanted to resell this domain, there& #39;s a market out there.
From a resale price point of view, I can see that handmade furniture is expensive.

So chances are if a company is selling handmade furniture for £2,500, then they probably have money to buy a domain too.
At this point I am happy to go ahead and buy the domain, I make an offer of £100 which gets accepted.

Now these companies don& #39;t NEED my domain, but they are all using the phrase & #39;handmade furniture& #39; to describe the exact products they sell.
So chances are, if I were to approach every single handmade furniture website in the UK, I am sure I can sell it to one of them for more than £100 - my risk is low.

Alternatively if I wanted to turn it into a website, there& #39;s plenty of companies I could approach as suppliers
Or even if they weren& #39;t interested in supplying, there& #39;s a whole market on Etsy of people selling handmade furniture.

These are often people who have no idea on how to make a website to sell their product online.
I could even use the Etsy fees page as a benchmark to get an idea of how much commission they& #39;d be willing to pay for me to sell their product on my website.

So that& #39;s a run through of my thought process on how I see value in this domain, & how I often assess others.

I have sold dozens of domains, made 100+ websites, but I am not an expert.

I do this for fun, others have weird ways of getting their kicks, & this is how I get mine
I& #39;ll probably get asked what my plans are for it.

I don& #39;t have time to develop it, as I& #39;m still working on responding to billboard date applications.

I& #39;ll probably get asked how much I think it& #39;s worth, I& #39;ll say I& #39;d be surprised if I couldn& #39;t sell for more than what I paid.
