Bernie Sanders is a man of his words. He said from the beginning he would support who the presumptive nominee was. We shouldn't have expected anything different.. We don't have to agree with him or support Joe. We're independent thinkers. But I disagree with #ByeByeBernie 1/
Bernie has been committed to this fight for progress for 40 years and there were multiple times where he stood alone. But he never gave up. That's why his endorsement of Biden is not him giving up. It's just him keeping his word. Because Bernie is an unwavering decent man. 2/
Without Bernie I am not sure we would have galvanized the support for M4A or the GND we wanted. And even though Bernie is not likely to be the next US president, we still need him in the Senate as an ally to the movement. And that's why we shouldn't cancel Bernie. 3/
Bernie has things to consider that we don't. Nomiki Konst explains it well in this thread: https://twitter.com/NomikiKonst/status/1249767558695141378?s=20. 4/
And no, I am not endorsing Joe Biden for president. But I urge my fellow leftists claiming to be done with Dems to think about the importance of the down ballot races like @RashidaTlaib @Ilhan @AOC and many others before completely abandoning the entire Democratic ticket. 5/
