Some of us on here had a friend called Craig - @craigmnet - he was a lovely guy who “stumbled through life, trying not to knock over any of the ornaments”. Shortly after the 2017 General Election, Craig sadly took his own life. He couldn’t live with the Tory victory. 1/8
Craig had mental health problems, and we often spoke frankly together about the issues that he faced. He was a good man. Like so many of us, he invested all of his energy in to a Labour win. He really had the highest of hopes for a different kind of Britain. 2/8
Craig was also a target for some vicious bullying from Labour members. He was living in a hostel at the time. They said he was a beggar, a fraud, a scrounger. This caused him serious distress. Craig was an awesome writer, talented, I thought he was going to make it big time. 3/8
I wondered what would’ve been had Labour won the 2017 election. We did well. We surpassed all expectations, but we didn’t win. Craig was so desperate for a Corbyn-led Labour Government, like so many of us. 4/8
I’ve mentioned Craig a couple of times since his death. He was a massive loss as an activist and as a friend. Those who knew him were aware he just couldn’t cope with the prospect of another 5 years of suffering under the Tories. 5/8
Now the Labour report has gone viral. People now know what McNicol, Oldknow, and many others did to stop us from winning the 2017 election. They literally wanted us to lose, just to oust Jeremy. It’s out there, for all to see. 6/8
So forgive me for being angry with their sabotage, their bullying, and their disgraceful treatment of half-a-million Labour members.

They didn’t just lose us the election, they contributed to the loss of our friend, and that is unforgivable. 7/8
