THREAD: It’s interesting to hear so many folks suddenly talk about “how far behind” kids will be after this crisis. Yes, this crisis will lead to a lot of lost learning time. But kids have been pushed through K-12 schools without showing mastery for decades. This is not new. 1/2

The hope is that this will force us to reconsider antiquated instructional models that ignore student mastery. That doesn’t mean replacing in-person learning with online learning. It means we should focus on flexible pacing, differentiated support and authentic mastery. 2/2
