Woes of being the only techy one in the family: some workarounds I have seen recently (short thread)
My cousin wants us to play a game of Rummikub, so he's texted me (actual SMS) the App Store link for an iOS Rummikub app to my Android phone. Cool
My sister took some photos she needed to get off her phone. I tried to explain how to do it but instead, she UPLOADED EVERY SINGLE PICTURE TO FACEBOOK in albums of 10 at a time, visible only to her, then gave me her Facebook password to download them all one album at a time
I then had to zip them and send them to a particular email account that she had access to on the laptop she wanted to move them to. That was genuinely the most efficient way she could think of to get 50-odd photos off her phone onto this laptop
Finally, my cousin wanted to share a funny video he saw on Facebook. He tagged me in the comments, but I'm not friends with the person who shared it -- so he MESSAGED THE GUY AND MADE HIM ADD ME AS A FRIEND so I could see it. Instead of just asking him to make it public
...or indeed Googling for another link since it was a very common video and not the dude's own content.

Dude also posts "paedophile sting" videos ALL THE TIME so he has very much been removed from my friends list now that I've seen the video. (It was funny though, to be fair)
These are intelligent, professional humans -- I dread to think what else goes on in the world, workaround-wise. Always gives me a chuckle though.
Addendum: Another family member asked me to make a website for their business, I asked for the logo and they said "I'll just go outside and take a photo of the sign, hang on"
Same family member famously typed "wheres my inbox .com" into Google once

She used hotmail...
