For some background on me, I was bullied a lot in middle school and into 9th grade and that was the main trigger for me wanting to escape KY for Hollywood to be an actress at 15yrs old. 8th grade was the worst year I ever had. I was tormented relentlessly and always thought
I should “take the high road”, “just ignore them”... but the bullies never let up. Until one day, I snapped. On one of the last days of 8th grade, I finally stood up for myself. To my shock, the bully immediately cowered.
Some new bullies emerged once I entered high school and I navigated my way into finding a balance of ignoring and defending. Before leaving the school forever, one of the middle school bullies told me that if I had stuck up for myself sooner, my life could have been
a lot easier. I wish someone had taught me to not take shit when I was a kid. It’s never ok to be the instigator but if someone is attacking you, even if it’s just a twitter troll , I feel very strongly that sometimes a stand needs to be made.
You can do it with or without curse words. I prefer with. I think it makes it a lot funnier. And I hope it makes the bully feel more owned.
