When Jesus first speaks to Mary outside the tomb, he doesn't tell her to stop weeping. He asks her why she is. He asks what she is looking for. He takes her grief seriously. He calls her by name. The one bringing new life silently beholds the one grieving the old life first.
When Mary first sees Jesus, she doesn't recognize him and he doesn't reprimand her for it. He simply speaks her name to let her know "I see you. I know you. I'm here."

Only when Mary is ready to turn; only when she is able to see him for herself does Jesus tell her Good News.
Resurrection bursts from the tomb yes.
Resurrection triumphs over death, yes.
But Resurrection waits for those who are still weeping.
