I don& #39;t think the UK-France comparison in this chart published by the UK government today is quite right
According do the underlying data published by the government (here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/slides-and-datasets-to-accompany-coronavirus-press-conference-13-april-2020?utm_source=09cc45ac-bec2-47d0-9428-b6c4959f6e73&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=govuk-notifications&utm_content=immediate),">https://www.gov.uk/governmen... the UK figure is 11,329, which according to the Dept. of Health is number of deaths among those hospitalised ( https://twitter.com/DHSCgovuk/status/1249693469733421056)">https://twitter.com/DHSCgovuk...
The figure for France in the chart is 14,393. The chart does say that due to reporting lags comparisons may not be like for like. However, the French figure includes both hospital deaths and deaths in care homes. So it& #39;s not just a reporting lag, but something else
The French government has published both figures, so you can actually do a more accurate comparison if you wanted to. The figure for hospitals, since March 1, is 9,253 https://solidarites-sante.gouv.fr/actualites/presse/communiques-de-presse/article/communique-de-presse-du-12-avril-2020">https://solidarites-sante.gouv.fr/actualite...
