BROKEN NJ UNEMPLOYMENT THREAD! I have found a major glitch in the NJ Unemployment system. I have not been able to get live help to fix this in 7 days! So I had a claim for three weeks back in late 2019 when I was out of work. Everything was fine but now I cant claim benefits.
It is still saying my claim from 6 months ago is filed and that since I haven’t claimed benefits in weeks, I will need to refile or reopen my claim. This is where I noticed a major major problem in the system. I have spoken to countless others with the same issue.
I now have no income for the last three weeks, can’t even file weekly benefits each week for the back pay, and can’t get one single live person on the phone to help me through this! I worked hard over the years, paying taxes and into this system for times like this!
Hundreds of calls to @NJLaborDept go unanswered. @GovMurphy needs to immediately acknowledge and address this issue. It’s like we are being left for dead! I know there has been a huge jump in claims but you are not adequately addressing this pressing issue. HELP US!
In the mean meantime, if anyone could find it in their heart to help me keep going until I get this problem situated I would be forever grateful. I’m just trying to keep going day by day until I can get my benefits paid to me.
