I hope that one outcome of the Wuhan virus situation with schools is that we are now able to see that traditional grading is worthless, so that there is much wider adoption of standards-based grading

In trying to adapt what we do in the classroom to online work, I hope that more of us are encouraged to reflect on what we do in the classroom. This can be an opportunity for growth.

What are our goals, and how do we serve those goals with every choice that we make?

As an acquaintance once said to me, “If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.”

This is a chance to rethink “school.”

What do we want to come back to next August? What is it time to change or leave behind? How do we make school better? How do we get there?
