But Paul Smith did really go and play it at ITV - he made them put up real money

I used to sit in the celador offices (which were on Long Acre) and colour in when I went up to london for hospital appts. I also did my work experience there heheheee

It wasn’t just Paul who had to put personal money up for the show to get a pilot - it was also my dad, the other creators, and jasper carrott (long story)
