(1/5)While we wait for results later today, one thing is clear: Voters in this state were disenfranchised.
(2/5) The New York Times: “At least 9,000 absentee ballots requested by voters were never sent, and others recorded as sent were never received. Even when voters did return their completed ballots in the mail, thousands were postmarked too late to count — or not at all.”
(3/5) Regardless of how the results of this election roll out, there are thousands of people across this state who didn’t have the chance to have their voice heard, or whose voices will be effectively nullified.
(4/5) We forced voters to choose between their health and democracy by insisting in-person voting take place last Tuesday, and are punishing the voters who attempted to participate in democracy but our systems were not equipped enough to quite literally deliver.
