Life is a journey filled with struggles. Similar to how a running vehicle’s wheel constantly spins up and down, on one end, things get rough and at the other, things get smooth. Whether we like it or not, we constantly face problems, possibly every day; problems that can make us-
feel miserable about ourselves as a person. It’s frustrating. But somehow, through optimism, there is always that feeling of “things will get better”; there is hope that waiting at the end of a raging storm there is a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
3-gatsu no Lion portrayed that aspect of life in its purest realistic sense. Everything about it is just natural and it just hits hard. It’s so immersive that it just slaps you with reality. It shows you how frustrating things can get but despite the harshness of things, there-
is also warmth. There is this sense of satisfaction that tells you: “you are not alone, keep fighting, there are people who are ready to supporting you.”

I have forgotten how warm this show felt when I watched it a few months ago.
Finishing it days ago, I was stuck in the feeling of emptiness. That though the story isn't over yet, things concluded in a positive light, that just brings out happy vibe. I was just overwhelmed by the development of everyone, that I was at a loss for words.
I watched as the characters decided on what they wanted to do, what they wanted to become as a person. I watched as each major character strives to defeat depression and become better version of themselves. And it’s just inspiring.
It’s inspiring to see people doing their best to overcome loneliness; to think of struggles as learning experiences for their future. It’s heartwarming to feel a sense of belonging despite the world making us feel alone at times.
That made me thinking, why don’t I try and do something with my life as well? It shouldn’t have to be anything major or big. Just simple things; simple, yet brings a sense of accomplishment.
Because the more we strive to do better things, the more we start to regain a sense of purpose; to grow better as a person. Yes its not to say that things will always be positive. But then again life is a process of struggles, we gain and lose things.
So I'll just conclude this thread by quoting one of the characters I loved in this show:

"Gaining and losing things are an unavoidable part of life for everyone. You feel joy, you feel disappointment, and it repeats. And that’s how you learn to handle your feelings.
Disappointment and loneliness are necessary emotions. Because of loneliness people master courage and reach out to a new world.” – Eisaku Noguchi
