In that, we're probably most similar to (gasp) The Greatest Generation, conditioned by privations of The Great Depression / WWII, never *really* able to settle into the post-WWII abundance
Also so many communities *as whole* have been conditioned to live with precarity; the difference, as always, is that it's cutting across so many demos (aka white middle-class people are also experiencing it en masse)
