It's so sad so many members of the fandom think the whole fandom is just hating on each other when really most of us are just trying to have a good time but the hate gets all the attention it sucks

seeing people call the entire RWBY fandom toxic or a hatdom really hurts for me because rwby has always been something comforting for me and its a shame all the people who will hate on crwby and other people in the fandom or even hate on those who hate rwby

-bring a bad reputation for everyone and makes me feel bad for enjoying a show i love because of those it associates me with and how other will judge me for it

when i started rwby i never interacted with much of the fandom as all the hate and negativity scared me and made me upset for just enjoying a show.
and this was only around volume 2 release and its only gotten worse and worse

i joined the rwby twitter fandom during the volume 6 hiatus and i tried to keep out of the negative parts of the fandom, sadly being a shipper of bumbleby i would constantly have a target on my back for anti bb posts that would show up in my feed

i would ignore it, but it can still get to you when something harmless you enjoy is being loathed by so many and im being told im wrong for liking something in a show and this goes for anything not just ships

this fandom means SO much to me and this wonderful show has brought so much joy and so many tears and so many friends and people into my life and i couldn't be more thankful for everything, this show is more than just that to me it has sentimental value

and that's worth more than any of the hate
so now i ask so many have such strong opinions against the show or just straight up despise it, yet they continue to not only watch the show but interact with the fandom and fans trying to tear down what they love for the fun of it?

if you don't like rwby that's fine there are shows i don't like and you know what!? i don't watch them i don't interact with their fans just to tell them their wrong i don't @ the writers telling them to change their story

and please PLEASE if you truly enjoy the show don't attack those with different views, don't insult those who insult you, don't attack the very people who gave us the show in the first place
as long as something is harmless fun there is no reason to tear someone down for it

you can have your opinions and you can discus different views, that's what a fandom is about connecting with others who enjoy the show that doesn't mean arguing over ships or the behaviour of a character despite the canon.

we should be here to enjoy the show enjoy sharing art, fan fiction, AUs , OC's etc not to fight amongst ourselves
when at the end of the day NONE of us have any power to change the show.
