apollo justice is a strange game, yet i consider it to be underrated (thread probably)

the title Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice led fans to believe that the cases that they were going to face were going to be Apollo's alone, and yet, only minutes after the great intro...
...we see a seemingly ruined version of Phoenix Wright (the defendant) and with the help of Apollo's (with the HELP of Apollo) bluffs, he managed to get off (1st case)

that's kind of my main problem, it's still centered around Phoenix. he is very much omnipresent EVERYWHERE.
granted, i understand that he's supposed to be kind of like a mentor to Apollo, who constantly looks up to Phoenix, but still the fact that mostly everything is centered around him kind of defeats the purpose of the title.

and don't even get me STARTED on the cases. ohhhh nooo
okay i'll give it this, the first case is AMAZING, but it very much goes downhill from there.

the second case is just.. boring to me. at least Trucy makes her first appearance and.. pretends to get FUCKING KIDNAPPED (still wondering how she got away with that wtf)
apart from that, the case is boring. ema skye seems to ruin everything she touches. and the reminiscence theme of wocky kitaki doesn't really sound like an actual reminiscence theme. it's too... upbeat.

and the rest of the case is ok i guess, it's doable, just boring to me
alright uh too much about turnabout corner NEXT CASE

...the case where they accused a 14 YEAR OLD AND THE STUPIDEST OF THE GAME

uhhhhh Lamiroir is cute
as far as i know Phoenix doesn't have much to do here so that's good i guess
but......... HOW CAN YOU
ACCUSE A FUCKING BLIND 14 YEAR OLD
HOW WHY-

and i hate daryan crescend. he's very very annoying and his hair shouldn't logically be the way it is

bitch how do you get that shark hair i wanna KNOW

weird case and stupid dumb

anyway onto the next and last one
okay there's a lot to unpack in the last case ngl. but i want to say this:

1. poor trucy i wanna hug her :cccc
2. if we follow von Karma's track record of perfect victories using forged evidence deliberately during the 40+ years he's been winning cases, why was Phoenix stripped-
-of his badge the SECOND TIME he submitted forged evidence to the courts????? favoritism?????????

also i forgot to mention the whole "perception" thing, and i like how it works. and i really like the gramarye backstory too, it's beautifully tragic and it made me tear up
...for everything else there, it's confusing as hell and Phoenix takes LITERAL CENTER STAGE by the end of the case, and the problem that i mentioned earlier in the thread is accentuated.

he gets to make an ENTIRE JURY SYSTEM. and decide misham's verdict

poor apollo can'thaveshi
still, the jury thing kind of confused me in my first playthrough, i loved the whole Kristoph Gavin's character (a manipulative, cunning mentor) and the reminiscence themes are BEAUTIFUL, especially A Fate Smeared by Tricks and Gadgets. i love that one so muchhhhh
which brings me to the soundtrack of this game: the "black sheep"

i REALLY like it. it feels very experimental and the best part of the whole game imo, especially Overtaken, Announce The Truth and Objection. the best ones imo. all of the OST feels experimental af and i love it
overall i'm very mixed on this game, it's my least favorite rn but it's still an Ace Attorney game. Klavier is one of my favorite prosecutors too so there's that

is it a worthy successor to T&T? probably not, the downs it has weigh it too much imo, and T&T has more variety
if you read this thread without having played any of the AA games, why did you do that

have a great day, and happy birthday AA: Apollo Justice you're legally allowed to use discord now

that said, apollo looks like a teenager. who wants to play tic tac toe on his forehead 😳😳
