Good evening folks, the QUARTER FINALS of the World Cup of Star Trek: The Next Generation Episodes will kick off shortly, but first letâs take a look at those first round results. #wctng #tng #startrek #startrektng
Lower Decks put up a hell of a fight against the big lad, and theyâve certainly given the fans a good day out, theyâll be happy with that. Yesterdayâs Enterprise a bit of a dark horse in the competition but they were never going to hold out against a Borg episode. #wctng
A great victory for the episode many considered the underdog, The Outcast, in the Riker derby. Thine Own Selfâs fancy stylings were no match for the sheer grit and determination of Darmok. #wctng
Moment of silence for the relentless thirst trap of an episode that is Starship Mine, the tournament will be a little colder without it. I, Borg absolutely flattening the opposition, though the lad Q still looks on for the Golden Boot #wctng
Cause & Effect started out just happy to be here but one wonders if theyâll get cocky after emphatically seeing off a Q side. And itâs farewell to mysterious stranger Durango as Measure of a Man comes out on top. #wctng
And weâre off!

If you need a reminder of the episodes check the results earlier in the thread for tournament summaries. Or lose yourself in a google spiral, whatever works for you. #wctng
Cause & Effect doing very well for an episode where the Enterprise blows up before the opening credits. #wctng
They did very well to keep that impactful every time it happened, and the poker game was a great device. Plus, Captain Frasier
#wctng

Itâs got a job on its hand against Best of Both Worlds, which managed to remain agony throughout despite my being well aware Picard survives for another 4 seasons and a spin-off. You all must have been losing your minds after that cliffhanger first aired though. #wctng
The two Data episodes in QF1 really ask you what you value most in a Trek episode. Whimsical yet illuminating musings on the human condition? Cats? Courtroom drama? Non-whimsical musings on the human condition with profound implications? Appalling tribunal procedures? #wctng
QF3, Outcast vs I, Borg, is the toughest one for me. #wctng
BOBW is a pretty big episode for Riker as well. He has Shelby plainly after his job, and has to really say out loud why he doesnât want to take a captaincy. The conversation with Troi about the things heâs sacrificed for ambition is a Lot. #wctng
oh yeah and thereâs this #wctng
quite surprised by how QF4âs going. #wctng
Chain of Command creeping up on Darmok now with just over 8 hours to go. How many lights are there, people. Thatâs what QF4 asks you. Sokath! His eyes open! #wctng
