I believe dogs can't get the virus. Well, the one that has spent the last hour barking incessantly on Hill Street, Monaghan town hasn't got lung trouble, anyway. Just a few hours til it's nightly session, too.

In fairness, there is the odd reprieve. They generally last about 2 minutes.
