UAE celeb says a Kuwaiti actress was misunderstood after she called for migrant workers to be deported over #Covid19

Tariq al-Mehyas has been speaking more since his comments about South Asians went viral. He says his remarks were taken out of context by a Qatari show. Everyone in the UAE is a fellow citizen. He adds he’s got an Asian maid. He’s not racist. Serious

For what’s worth, Tariq’s comments were condemned. Don’t know how widely in the UAE. But clearly enough for him to issue an “apology”. If anyone knows him, tell him to stop totally. Would be best thing for everyone

Also I know Twitter is not best place to have a decent discussion but no need complain about racism with your own racist views

UPDATE: UAE’s public prosecutor has now ordered the detention of Tariq al-Mehyas. The media personality is accused of posting a video containing hate speech. Al-Mehyas had made offensive remarks about South Asians in a viral video
