For those of us fortunate enough to still have work + who are able to from home, here are some thoughts from @suerobinsyvr at Bird Communications.

Our company was built on a work from home model (A THREAD).
1. It isn’t as simple as just changing the work setting from office to home. This is a mental shift instead.
2. If your workplace has only switched from a million meetings in-person to a million meetings on-line, they haven’t done their mental shift yet.
3. It is about identifying exactly WHAT you all need to do, WHY you need to do it…and then focusing on the *deliverables.*
4. This is the secret sauce: Be super clear + break down what needs to be done to get to the point of finishing the work + then moving onto the next work.
5. Work is not sitting in meetings. It gives people a sense of accomplishment + meaning to focus on the finished work.
6. This means doing what you have to do to deliver work. Not sitting in endless meetings to talk about work. But actually doing the work.
7. This means productivity is tied to the deliverable. Not showing up for a meeting.
8. Meetings are important when you launch your work + if you run into a snag. That’s it. Give people clear direction and cancel the rest of the meetings.
9. Note: If you want to ‘touch base’ with your staff, great, but do that one-on-one. Many folks will not talk about their feelings in a group meeting.
10.The key is you have to TRUST your people to DO the work that needs to be done WHEN it is best for them.
http://11.TRUST  your people to figure out their own HOW they are going to the work if you give them the WHY and WHAT behind the work. Then let them be free.
http://12.You  must be family-friendly now. Encourage folks to do work whenever is best for them, not demanding that they sit in front of Zoom from 9-5 pm.
http://13.Work  from home does not mean work all the time. Remind folks that it is crucial to identify when they are *not* working + block off that time.
14.For folks adjusting to having kids around, caring for a partner, tending to their own mental health or running a house while working or adjusting to living in the midst of a CRISIS like this…
15.We all need to be compassionate, understanding + nimble with each other right now (and hopefully going forward too). /FIN
ps: I don't know why 11, 12 + 13 show up as links, BUT it is my reminder that Perfect is the opposite of Done.

May we all forgive each other's typos now.
