One of these days, they really need to put out a Grant Morrison Art book.

Dude's an artist first and foremost, who draws out and designs a bunch of stuff before ever 'writing' properly or getting a word done on the script.
A whole proto-comic is drawn, akin to this, which is then 'converted' into a text script.

So it's born and made to be a comic, with where the beats fall, the page turns and pacing and then just written down to be re-interpreted by the artist.

From Batman RIP.
A lot of the stuff is visually laid out or thought through, so you get the precision of the work, because there is that 'I know exactly what I want out of this' going on when it's being done.

New X-Men, Batman Of Zur-En-Arrh, FC #1's ending w/ Barry and a cover here.
How a bunch of Final Crisis/Superman Beyond and General Multiverse stuff and the Bat-Epic were laid out, across full books like these, pages upon pages.

There's loads of em with stuff like this. The FC Sketchbook which DC put out alone is LOADED with cool ideas + process stuff.
Even for Action Comics, the designs for the new original characters, the big cosmic team (The Wanderers/The Cometeers) and the big villain who retconned/edited/rewrote DC continuity, the representation of WB/DC Comics:

Lot of notes, very clear vision here.
The covers are worked out on some levels as well.

Cover sketches/thumbnails by Morrison and the Final Versions by Rags Morales here.
Now from Multiversity:

Just loads and loads of ideas, rad ideas, stuff that could fill up years upon years of comics, all just designed, drawn out and handed off to DC, never really seeing use again.

MV is, really, Morrison's The Fourth World, the wealth of ideas is insane.
Pax Americana is a comic that really works only because of a meticulous process like this (and Quitely. The book only works due to the trust the two have in each other.) that thinks through stuff very clearly.

The layout, the angles, the meaning, all are considered.
