Bored. And sorting thousands of images out. Came across this folder again.

This is how I found the main bench. At a car breaker's yard. One of five. One is just in shot to the left. They were painting them ALL OVER with old gloss paint. So...I got a good deal because...
I'd sold him a van with a fantastic VW engine in and he'd made a killing in it, and I agreed to move it there and then. Somehow I got it into the back of the Picasso and got it to the workshop. It was a mess. It had been abused in a 6th form college for many years...
So I removed all the paint - leaving one handprint as part of its story - removed the vice from one side as it was going against a wall, and removed the plywood top... #stupiddog helped along the way
It looked right at home - after I'd removed the door and door frame to get the damned thing in - but things never stay the same for very long in my workshop...
Firstly, I wanted a little BenchBench after seeing @davidboeff 's beautiful little bench bench...so made a quick servicable version from a piece of worktop given to me by @laurafusedglass. Added a vice, some dog holes and made some brass dogs...
It more often than not looks like this...
In my head, it always looks like this...but it doesn't matter. It's a great bench and I love it.
