NEW: @Keir_Starmer and @AngelaRayner have launched an “urgent independent investigation” into the leaked report about the Labour party’s handling of anti-Semitism.

"The content and the release of the report into the public domain raise a number of matters of serious concern."

The independent investigation will look at three areas:

1. Background and circumstances of the report being commissioned

2. The contents, wider culture and practices in the report

3. The circumstances the report was leaked into the public domain

Starmer and Rayner ask people not draw conclusions from the leaked report before the investigation is complete:

“We will be asking the General Secretary to put measures in place to protect the welfare of party members and party staff who are concerned or affected by this report"
