Contrary to messages doing the rounds, Quint HAS NOT fired half of its staff. It has asked 45 people (out of staff strength of 200 people) to go indefinite leave without pay.
Times HAS NOT fired its entire Sunday Mag team. It has laid off about three people in Sunday Life — a glossy supplement that has merged with the main paper. Speaking Tree on Sunday, which used to be an 8-page supplement, has been reduced to one page. No firings there yet.
News Nation laid off its entire English digital team of 15. Employees say they weren't allowed to serve the notice period, even though their contract mandates so. They were given one-month 'basic salary', the contract says one-month 'salary'. https://www.newslaundry.com/2020/04/13/news-nation-lays-off-its-entire-english-digital-team-of-15
