i wanted to convert a google doc to markdown (it doesn't use anything fancier than italics) but that's not an options, so i downloaded as rtf and figured i could convert that by hand

google wrapped EVERY SINGLE WORD in a pile of rtf tags

relatedly, i wish i knew a better place to draft fiction than google docs, and also a better place to publish fiction than google docs

first up: notion, which is off to a bad start by asking for separate first and last name when signing up. fuck you. there is never any good reason for that.
