Here's a game called #FirstLast. If you want to say something to someone on Twitter but you don't want to @ them (bc you're shy or polite or whatever) or don't want come off as subtweety, tell them in one of the following two ways:
1. Compose your tweet (without @ ing the person in question), but address it to them by using the first and last letter of their handle.

For example, if someone wants to tell me something.
⬇️
"TX, you're so awesome. I wish you could tweet straight into my brain."
2. Compose your tweet (without @ ing the person in question), but address it to them by using the first and last letter of their handle IN AN EXISTING WORD.

For example, if someone wants to tell me something.
⬇️
"TeXas, if you ever start a cult, I'll be the 1st one to sign up."
If you want to quote this thread or use the hashtag #FirstLast, that's cool. If don't you don't but still want to play, that's also cool.

TWO rules:

1) If the person you're addressing asks you if it was for them, you have to answer and explain (esp. if your tweet was vague).
2) Go into this with sober expectations. For example, if the other person figures out that you're addressing him/her (and he/she ats you about it), they are under no obligation to compose a tweet addressing you nor should you expect them to do so.
