i was today years old when i found out i have maladaptive daydreaming and still do. 🤯 i had it ever since i was little and always been my way to cope and get out of reality.
i literally can picture vivid scenarios in my head for HOURS.
“In 2002, Professor Eli Somer first defined the phenomenon of maladaptive daydreaming. He believed that maladaptive daydreaming could develop as a result of trauma or abuse, and act as a coping strategy to escape reality.”
as a victim of child abuse and severe depression **(4 months strong so far! no signs of depression coming back! ive been so focused on meditating and being a positive person in general! going vegan really helped me)** daydreaming has always been a coping mechanism for me.
