As a British Indian, and a huge fan anime/manga, I really wanted to create a thread highlighting indian representation in this medium
I will slowly keep adding to this thread as I discover more ✌
Starting off with Arslan Senki where we have many characters from the Kingdom of Sindhura, which is based on an ancient kindgom that was located in south east Pakistan today, but due to it being a historical setting, a part of ancient india
First my boy Jaswant from Arslan Senki
Next we have the King of the Kingdom of Sindhura himself Rajendra
My desi queen Rakshata Chawla from Code Geass
Sharna Alamgir from Hayate the Combat Butler

(Still confused about her sudden change in complexion 👀)
Next the spice god himself Akira Hayama from Food Wars!
Tbf it's never confirmed he's indian, but he was rescued from the slums, and his speciality is curry and spices?? Come on
Another chef!
Jerry from D.Gray-man
Hakim Atawari from Emma
(Btw read Emma! Kaoru Mori 🐐)
Both Emma and Black Butler are set in Victoria-era London in the late 19th century during the British rule of India and they both happen to have princes come over from India 👀👀👀
Prince Soma Asman Kadar
Agni from from Black Butler as well
Mina also from Black Butler
Amitabh Kapoor from Darker than Black
Pretty sure someone just searched up some Bollywood actors and just put 2 names together for this one
Mina Kandaswamy also from Darker than Black
Anthy from Revolutionary Girl Utena

I think...
Rewatched Utena recently and yes she is

Queen
Akio Ohtori also from Revolutionary Girl Utena
It is really cool how the RGU uses aspects of the indian culture with these 2 characters and their roles in the story, for example the bindi/tilak that both Anthy/Akio have on there foreheads is representative of many things, which are all called on in the story
2 more characters from Arslan Senki , Gadevi and Mahendra
Some more characters from Code Geass universe, Rakshata's little sister Shanti, and from the spin-off series Oz the Reflection, Neha Shankar and Kagari Savitri, still waiting for that to get translated fully... pain.
Won't be limiting this thread to just indian characters, will be adding all south asian characters I find and characters from the middle east/west asian region, to show off even more representation 🙌
