A rando replied to this to complain that "everyone else has been treating this as a joke". He then blocked me before I could respond, so here's my reply to him—and to anyone else who thinks I'm mocking emergency public health efforts—rather than mocking a widely feted crank.

Carole Cadwalldr is indeed a joke. I'm mocking her because the Nightingale hospitals are a serious business and she shouldn't be taken seriously by the media (as she has been about many other grave matters) when she speculates maliciously about them in pursuit of her vendettas.
