The primary season isn’t quite over. The left wing of the party still has a handful of viable opportunities to elect progressives over centrists in open seats, or knock out incumbents, and I'll flag a few over the next few days. Here’s a fascinating one, @MondaireJones: (thread)
In New York, @MondaireJones is running to represent Bill Clinton’s super rich district. His single mom raised him while cleaning houses there, and he’s running against Adam Schleifer and David Carlucci...
Carlucci is a hilarious candidate. He was a member of the IDC as a state Senator, the group of Dems who sided with Republicans until they were blown up by progressive activists in 2018. Now he wants to represent a deep blue district as a Democrat.
Schleifer is even funnier: His claim to fame is prosecuting Felicity Huffman and other rich people who tried to buy their way into college. But Schleifer himself is the son of a biotech billionaire, Leonard Schleifer.

Where’d Adam go to college? Glad you asked.
Schleifer, who prosecuted Felicity Huffman, went to Cornell, just like his dad, his mom, and his grandpa. His dad even had a professorship at the Cornell medical school. Adam then went to Columbia, where his dad had tons of connections, too https://nypost.com/2019/12/07/college-admissions-scam-prosecutor-benefited-from-his-own-life-of-privilege/
Here's Adam's dad. Adam has so much money to spend to buy this seat he's already running TV ads, beginning 14 weeks our from the June 23 primary, which is just a bonkers amount of spending.
Here’s an interview I did with @mondairejones, who would be the first openly gay man to represent the district and is running on a broadly progressive platform
So Dems can choose between the progressive son of a maid who worked her fingers to the bone in the district, the son of a billionaire who wants a seat in Congress, or a guy who literally caucused with Republicans. If there was a time for the DCCC to pick sides, isn't this it?
