In 1983, Pakistan decided to capture major peaks in Siachen Glacier once the winters pass.

With a plan to stake their claim through troop deployments by April 17, 1984, Pak ordered 150 Arctic gears for its troops from a London-based supplier.

Pakistan was unaware that the same supplier provided outfits to the Indians.
RAW got whiff abt this development & India ordered 300 Arctic-weather gears.

RAW ensured failing the Pakistani delivery of gears on time while India gets their gears in advance.(3/n)
