Can’t work out whether to be more annoyed at companies still issuing cheques instead of using BACS in the current situation, or more annoyed by how hard @BarclaysUK work to thwart lower-risk methods of paying them in than at a branch counter.
Talking of which, I’m planning on holding a seance later to see if I can get a recommendation from @BarclaysUKHelp business team, given they appear to be uncontactable any other way. Can you have a circle with just one person in it? 🤔
Things that don’t work, at least at Whitchurch & Oswestry:

1. You can’t pay in by mobile banking because there’s a tiny £500 limit.

2. You can’t pay in by posting into night safe as they’ve blocked it off.

3. You can’t pay in at cash machine because the option is greyed out.
4. Posting the cheques and a paying-in slip feels promising, but try getting an address out of them to send it to…

Even asked Barclays private banker who kindly tried (thanks!) but couldn’t find the right address, as business banking is basically separate to personal.
