A thread on how our building society at Gogol, Margao, South Goa, managed itself in the time of lockdown.

We do not have a registered society yet. So we formed a 5 members Residents Welfare Association to manage the affairs. The builder and supervisor, who usually manage the society, were not available throughout this lockdown period. It was a tough time for us.

We have 4 security guards and 2 in-house cleaning staff. These guys were scared and wanted to leave. But we motivated them and provided them with extra cash, groceries and other hygiene stuff.

We then set up preventive suggestions for our members, which many followed diligently. Earlier, we kept it on till 31st March, but then extended all restrictions till 15th April. We faced some opposition, but we kept police informed.

We undertook several activities like home delivery of groceries in association with Borkars Stores. Vegetable, eggs, chicken, fish, fruits were also sold within the premises. We also got truck delivery of vegetable from @DamuNaik

This thread was just to showcase how human beings try to adapt to situations when they are faced with tough times. We were actually in a better position to deal these blows. Our heart goes out for people who were not as lucky as us. Praying for normalcy to come in soon.
