#TestTraceIsolate will not be sufficient as a stand-alone strategy, but it could replace some of the measures we have taken to reduce contacts in general.
Factors that influence the efficiency of #TestTraceIsolate
- Percentage of cases detected (tests)
- Percentage of identified close contacts (conventional&digital tracing)
- Evidence-based guidelines on who should be isolated and how long
- Compliance
Test capacity:
The demand for testing in CH is decreasing as fewer people in the population show symptoms such as fever or cough. This opens up the possibility of expanding the test criteria so that all persons with symptoms can be tested.
Contact tracing:
For contact tracing digital solutions like @PeppPt as well as manual tracing should be used. As long as people have very few contacts, manual tracing would be feasible.
Evidence-based guidelines on who should be isolated and for how long :
It's critical that we know what time frame transmissions can occur. Guidelines should be evidence-based and have a certain margin of safety.
Compliance:
The most important thing is compliance by the people. It must be communicated well and clearly why the identification of cases through testing, the identification of contacts through tracing and the (precautionary) self-isolation is so important.
