Football pundits seem incredulous that non-football people might have sources within football. It’s as if the concept of business relationships is too much for them. The lessons of letting pundits opine on business issues should have been learned in 2012. Worked out well then. 🤔
The key difference being that, generally, business people understand a contractual or legislative issue where it’s explained to them. Whereas, generally, a football pundit will talk in generalities & throw in a few buzzwords to feign understanding & project authority.
I’ll listen & take serious cognisance of an actual business person trying to articulate the reasoning behind a complex decision-making process. Whereas I’ll pretty much just point, laugh or shake my head when the BBC Sportsound panel or Daily Record sports desk bumble their pish.
In short: the BBC pundits & daily journalists almost certainly know as much as we do, or less, but certainly not more. The days of relying on those goons for ‘news’ passed about a decade ago. They’re peddling opinion. Opinions are like arseholes. Don’t give theirs any credence.
