I just recommended this beginners drawing course to someone https://willkempartschool.com/product/absolute-beginners-drawing-course/">https://willkempartschool.com/product/a... I did it a few years ago when I felt like I needed to learn something new. Here is a drawing of a cup and saucer I did at the start of the course.
After a bit more practice, I attempted my very first portrait (from a photo, obviously). John Hurt had just died and I was very sad. I wanted to spend a bit of time & #39;with& #39; him. I look at this now and see all of the mistakes, but I was happy with it at the time.
I wanted to try drawing this photo, not just because I love Tim Curry, but because I wanted to see if I could get the smoke right.
Fast forward a bit and this is a drawing I did for my Art Foundation course. It& #39;s A1 pencil.
And now I& #39;m in my 2nd year of a Fine Art BA and I haven& #39;t really drawn anything since Foundation because: Fine Art. BUT... if you want to learn something new, it& #39;s a good choice. You don& #39;t need loads of equipment to start and there& #39;s always stuff to draw.
I originally did the drawing course because I was, frankly, fed up with my work. I spent my year in Foundation TOTALLY avoiding doing any digital or video. The 1st term of my 1st year doing a BA, I did & #39;an art film& #39;: https://youtu.be/wcrvo_V5ePg ">https://youtu.be/wcrvo_V5e... I love it.
Last spring, I did a very different type of & #39;film& #39;, a pastiche of a 1950s & #39;European& #39; film. Shot and edited entirely on my iPhone. https://youtu.be/lDU7X3fGtnc ">https://youtu.be/lDU7X3fGt... I love this, too... Really love it.
