No trust, no use - mostly holds true in a society that builds upon democratic values and institutions. Strong collaboration btw the government, science/Edu, NGOs, & *good* sci-comm to involve the citizens is key. I am confident that CH is doing quite a good job. Any thoughts? https://twitter.com/Kasparov63/status/1249455960088813568">https://twitter.com/Kasparov6...
@TweetinChar I wonder, how this plays out in autocratic states (or e.g., the Trump gvnt.); The no trust, no use hypothesis may be obsolete? There are other incentives and punishments in place as a motive for use, e.g., the social credit system.
I think we (CH) are well equipped for what Kasparov called "trust, but verify." Since time is against us... Particularly, the idea of "alert citizens" was a valuable phrase for me. But I tend to be too optimistic. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đŸ€·â€â™€ïž" title="Woman shrugging" aria-label="Emoji: Woman shrugging">

I like this notion+implemtation of calibrated trust under time pressure.
