I am pretty sure I had Covid-19, especially the more I read about other people's experiences of it. So I thought I would give a general outline of how it effected me so others can build a picture when they read other experiences. (Thread continued below)
I was absolutely fine, sitting having a gin and watching TV, it was about 10pm. Suddenly I went really hot, started to feel sick and dizzy. I even heaved a few times, before going to bed. Many have had the same experience of feeling absolutely fine, and it coming on very suddenly
The next day I woke with a sore throat, a headache, chills, fatigue, weakness, pain in my face, neck, and sinuses. I was concerned and Nick got a thermometer from the pharmacy. My temperature was 38.2 I believe. Not that high, but generally my temperature stays between 36.5-.8
Over the following days my temperature went up as high as 39.6 at times. I felt awful. However, a few times throughout my experience I thought I was getting better, and all of a sudden I would feel bad again.
The worst day was day four or five when I had a tight chest, couldn't breathe very well, and felt dizzy and weak. My chest was so tight I cried, and due to panicking and already struggling to breathe I had a panic attack - which as you can imagine made it much worse.
After that I felt totally exhausted and drained. It continued to come and go, until day 10 when I finally started to feel I was getting over it.
The couple of things I would watch out for are obviously a fever, but also the waves of it coming and going, and a duration of between 8-10 days. Many who have been confirmed to have Covid-19 have shared the same experience, and hopefully people sharing their experiences will...
not only help prepare others for what to look for - especially if they are not testing - but also help ease some of the anxiety around it. I should also mention that the fever continued for over a week after the other symptoms subsided.
Do remember the vast majority will show no symptoms, *but* the severity obviously has a scale and we all react differently. From those with I would say have/had moderate symptoms like mine, there seems to be a lot of similarities.
The majority of people survive this illness, and come out the other side, it is important to remember that.
Two things I would recommend - particularly if you have underlying health issues, especially respiratory such as asthma or COPD. An Oximeter so if you struggle to breathe, you can monitor the oxygen saturation levels in your blood.
Also a decent thermometer to monitor your fever.
A friend of mine who is experienced in the medical field states you should not try to get your fever down unless it goes over 40°c when it can start to have serious negative affects on the body, because a fever is your body's way of fighting the virus.
If you kill the fever, you kill your body's attempt to fight it.

I hope this helps some people. Even if it only helps one it is worth it. Stay safe, this will end eventually.🌈
