. @VictoriaPolice Are police vehicles, in a non emergency situation, allowed to park in bike lanes? It's a common situation on La Trobe just west of Spencer.

Traffic is quiet now, but it is sometimes dangerous.

. @VictoriaPolice I don't go past all that often, but it seems like half the time I do you've got a vehicle parked in the no stopping zone (sign on pole behind vehicle), which is also a bike lane.

Please obey the laws that you're meant to enforce.
Illegal parking case marked as closed by @cityofmelbourne after only 23 minutes... but no resolution indicated online, and no update received via email at all.

@cityofmelbourne is adding 40km of new bike lanes, but how about looking after the ones you already have as well?
Two days in a row and the same van parked in the same lane outside the City West police station. Reported both times, both times it's "gone" by the time @cityofmelbourne goes to take a look.
. @VictoriaPolice That's three times in a row (and I don't go past all that often) that there have been vehicles parked unsafely in the bike lane outside your own station. How many will this thread accrue before you decide to follow the rules?
. @VictoriaPolice you had been doing so well, putting down road cones to prevent parking in the bike lane, but they were on the footpath today and instead there were *two* vehicles parked in the lane.

First up, unmarked VW driven by an officer that refused to provide his details.
And then this one. The officer tried to tell me it was permitted because it's an emergency vehicle. Maybe if its lights were on, not if you're going in to the office.

You can see the no stopping sign in both pictures, because they're parked in the bike lane.
Same vehicle, still there today. https://twitter.com/elyobo/status/1311948042539474945
. @VictoriaPolice I appreciate the attempt with the road cones, but it's a poor effort. It blocks legitimate users of the bike lane and still leaves 1MY 6YB illegally parked in the bike lane!

Also, the vehicle hasn't moved, but the cones have - why didn't the person moving the
cones move the illegally parked vehicle instead of putting cones around the illegally parked vehicle?

If your offices cannot follow the law, then placing the cones along the gutter (as was done for a few weeks) did seem to help them, perhaps go back to doing that?
Two more days @VictoriaPolice and your vehicle is still illegally obstructing the bike lane outside your City West station.

Two more days and @cityofmelbourne has still not towed it.

Why should anyone else obey the rules if the police don't bother to do so?
. @victoriapolice you must be having a laugh, came past in the tram this evening and no less than three vehicles (two definitely police, one almost certainly) parked in the bike lane outside your station.

@cityofmelbourne do you not have any interest in enforcing the rules here?
1MY6YB is a bit of a repeat offender in this series, the other two cleared out overnight but this one was still here in the morning. Reported this illegally parked @VictoriaPolice vehicle to @cityofmelbourne yet again, so we'll see...
And now we see that, once again, @cityofmelbourne parking wardens are somehow unable to see @VictoriaPolice vehicles.

It's *possible* that it was moved in the 2.5 hours in between reporting and receipt of this email (I haven't been back past).
