Policemen are our frontline warriors! But, they are at a higher risk of #Corona. As a doctor, I see them make a lot of mistakes! Here are some #healthtips for #Indian #policemen from a doctor's point of view.

(Please tag any friendly #police handles you know for me? Thanks!)
So, what policemen do is- they stop the car, get close to the driver to peep inside the car. Mistake! Please stop doing that sir ji! 6 feet social distance ALL the time from ALL the people is a MUST. Observe from far, don't get close to anyone!
I've seen policemen don't use mask properly. I know summers are here and it gets sweaty. But you still need to cover your nose & mouth at ALL times. Don't fiddle with the mask again and again! Don't touch it once you wear it. Trim your beard for best results.
Stop opening people's doors and truck of the car on your own. Their handles could be infected. Keep sanitizing your hands if you have too. Other infected places are door knobs, taps, pens etc. i.e. those places which a lot of people touch.
Do policemen need gloves? No.
Corona doesn't enter through your hands! It enters when hands touch the nose or mouth. So, hand washing is important, not gloves. If you have infected glove on and you touch your nose, you get Corona. So, useless. Only hand washing helps.
Do policemen need a face shield? No.
Face shields are useful only when someone spits saliva or coughs sputum on your face. Usually nobody does that, so you don't need a face shield.
Drink lots of water when in the field. Dehydration is common in summers. Eat a healthy balanced diet along with salads and fruits. Sleep 6- 8 hours daily. Priortize health this season.
• At the chowki, keep a distance from people. Don't allow crowding. Avoid handshakes. Don't lunch together. Keep washing hands regularly. Sanitize your pen, mobile etc- all the stuff that you keep touching. Open doors with your elbow, not your hands.
Stress level is high during this time for all essential service workers. Don't skip your BP/heart/diabetes medicines, if any. Meditate, relax. Consult a mental health professional if things seem too gloomy.
Contact a doctor if you feel something's not right with you- we're here for each other! You serve us and we, doctors, serve you.

Be safe. A little caution goes a long way! Ask me your doubts if any. 🙏

I hereby nominate @srinivas_aiims, psychiatrist, AIIMS Delhi, to write about how our policemen can handle the extreme mental stress they're facing.
