sorry but why the fuck are they even *thinking* about lifting lockdown at this stage? we need another three weeks minimum to get on top of everything and get test and trace infrastructure in place.
and even then, we& #39;ll need a phased approach out of it. restrictions on large gatherings continuing. ensuring indoor public spaces can maintain distance.
yes, we& #39;ll probably hit peak this week, but we need to stay locked down for some time after that and take measures to ensure there isn& #39;t a second wave of infections. that involves testing and tracing, facemasks, and taking it slowly.
A non-exhaustive list of things that need to be in place before we should even consider lifting lockdown:
-adequate PPE and ventilators to handle a possible second wave
-test and trace infrastructure better than a shitty app.

-increasing isolation period of known/suspected cases to 14 days from *end* of symptoms in line with WHO recommendations
-strict enforcement on workplaces who are not allowing workers to isolate
-distribution of face masks on public transport

-improvements to hand hygiene infrastructure, including ubiquitous sanitiser stations
-continued awareness of hand hygiene and other health behaviours

-tighter capacity limits on indoor public spaces
-seriously cannot emphasise enough how many tests we need to be doing per day after the end of lockdown
