Just heard the terrible and upsetting news that my nan's husband, Harvey, passed away late last night due to COVID-19. He's been in my family for nearly fifty years and has supported all of us, particularly my nan, through thick and thin. We're going to miss him terribly.
In recent years, he had developed Alzheimer's, but even then he was funny, cheeky and characterful. We'll remember his quick humour and his love for watching the football with a whiskey, and how he'd always bring our family together at Christmas and take us to the pantomime.
He was 81. Thankfully, he passed peacefully, in his sleep. And although we can't meet as a family for his burial, which will be tomorrow in accordance with his faith, we will gather at his stone setting in a few months' time and celebrate his life. May he rest in peace.
